  • Director of Sport - Warwick Prep School

    We are seeking to appoint and outstanding and innovative Director of Sport to lead a thriving, ambitious and highly successful sporting programme at Warwick Preparatory School. The role is full time and permanent with the responsibility of line managing members of the Prep PE department.

    The successful candidate will work closely with the overarching Director of Sport at King’s High School to continue to advance the current provision and further establish the development of the sporting curriculum for all pupils from Nursery to Sixth form. The current programme fosters a genuine love of learning and sport for all, whilst also ensuring pupils can perform at the highest level on a national stage. There is both breadth and excellence within sport at Warwick Preparatory School and King’s High School.

    It is expected that the successful candidate will be a highly organised individual who can communicate clearly with colleagues and the wider school community. They should be forward thinking and have the energy and enthusiasm to drive sport forwards through both promotion and provision whilst embracing our whole school approach to critical thinking and love of learning.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner who possess the vision and drive to obtain outstanding results whilst being full inclusive in their approach. Although the position is strongly connected with the all-through Sports department (3-18), the role will be first and foremost, firmly allied with the bustling life and commitments of a Middle Leader within Warwick Preparatory School.

    Warwick School is seeking to appoint a Head of Academic Support and SEND from September 2024.  The primary duties of Head of Academic Support and SEND are to ensure that pupils with specific needs are supported throughout the school. You will be supported by a superb team with a range of specialisms. 

    This is a great opportunity for a highly qualified and experienced individual, as the school seeks to build on the success of winning Independent Boys School of the Year for 2022 and deliver on our vision of being the most inspiring, rounded, and caring boys’ school in the UK.

    The department is currently housed in its own dedicated area with a quiet room and a range of small teaching classrooms and offices. The team is a mix of part and full-time staff with specialisms in cognition and learning; social, emotional, and mental health and academic specialists. We currently have two dedicated teaching assistants as well as administrative support. The team are also supported by additional outside agencies, according to need.

    The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the team, ensuring that the needs of the boys are met. We envisage that the candidate will have completed or be nearing completion of the National Award for Special Education Co-ordination (or similar).

  • Visiting Music Teacher, Trumpet - Warwick School

    An enthusiastic and inspiring Visiting Music Teacher of Trumpet is required from September2024. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with talented and enthusiastic pupils and teach in a most vibrant and successful department, teaching boys from school years three to thirteen.

    The Department:
    The Music Department is housed across two characterful buildings, which include three academic classrooms, a recital room, individual instrumental teaching rooms and instrument stores. In 2013 the Music School expanded to include a music studio and five acoustically designed instrumental teaching rooms. There are other excellent performance spaces, including the Warwick School Hall, the Bridge House Theatre, the Halse Pavilion, the Pyne 
    Room, and School Chapel. We also have access to the magnificent ‘Susi Jeans Organ’ (formerly of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire) housed in King’s High School.

    Music is a priority at Warwick School. Each week over 600 boys take instrumental lessons with 50 ensembles ranging from big bands to bell ringers, and choirs to orchestras. Recent overseas tours have included concerts in Barcelona, Venice and St Peter’s Basilica, Belgium, Uganda, and Rome.

    Working Times and Days:
    Initially approx. 3 hours per week, weekdays only. Working 30 weeks per year.  Hourly rate is £32.59.

    This is a great opportunity for a highly qualified and experienced individual, as the school seeks to build on the success of winning Independent Boys School of the Year for 2022 and deliver on our vision of being the most inspiring, rounded, and caring boys’ school in the UK.
